Teachers – Inspire Your Students
while Spending Less this School Year
while Spending Less this School Year
Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores wants to help teachers inspire creativity in the classroom and save money. Consider the following "creative math":
According to a recent survey conducted by the National Retail Federation, the average family intends to spend approximately 7% less on school supplies this year as compared to last year’s spending.
PLUS, As state budget deficits continue to rise, school funding continues to decrease in districts across the country.
PLUS, Teachers make significant out-of-pocket contributions, averaging approximately $400 per school year for classroom supplies, supplementing the financial support of districts and parents.
EQUALS: A clear need for teachers to save money.
The solution: the Jo-Ann Teacher Rewards program. All public, private and home school teachers are recognized with a free discount card worth 15% off all purchases during the 2009/2010 school year, plus a coupon worth 20% off one purchase.
“We want to help teachers reduce their out-of-pocket expenses on classroom supplies, particularly in the current economic climate,” explains Riddi Kline, Jo-Ann vice president, marketing. “At Jo-Ann, we’re committed to providing teachers with creative inspiration for their classroom projects and we want to make sure that those projects are affordable.”
To kick off this year’s Teacher Rewards program, Jo-Ann is celebrating Teacher Appreciation Day in select markets across the country.
On Saturday, August 15 teachers can save 20% on every purchase when they enroll in the Jo-Ann Teacher Rewards program. Individuals who present a state-issued photo ID and current teacher identification (or proof of home educator status) will receive a Teacher Rewards card, a special coupon valid on Saturday, August 15, and a goody bag filled with samples of great products for teachers (goody bags available while supplies last, in markets indicated with *).

This is a great program but immensely ironic when JoAnn does not afford this benefit to their own Creative University teachers who pay to make samples at their own expense, with items purchased at JoAnn. Hopefully, someone on the corporate level will find that worth correcting.
ReplyDeleteWhat about those of us who teach at preschools & don' t have state identification to proof we teach?

To address Maureen's comment (which was previously missed): Jo-Ann Creative University teachers are either team members, who will receive team member discounts or contractors who qualify for the VIP Discount Card, as a professional. Visit www.joann.com/vip to learn more about that program.
Thank you!
