Valentine's Day: Card, Candy, Container

Button-Embellished Card
You’ll need:
1 Pack of ready-made cards
Cardstock or scrapbook paper in an accent color
Assorted buttons
Tacky glue
Glue stick
Scissors
Pencil
Steps:
  • Cut a piece of scrapbook paper so that it’s about ¼ inch smaller than the front of the card on all sides. 
  • Lightly draw the shape of heart on the scrapbook paper (a heart-shaped cookie cutter comes in handy). 


  • Using tacky glue, fill the heart with buttons of different shapes, sizes and colors. 
  • Let dry. 

  • Use a glue stick to adhere the scrapbook paper to the card. 

Personalized Valentine Cello-Bags
You’ll need:
Cardstock or scrapbook paper
Stamps (letters, shapes, etc., it’s really up to you)
Paper Punches (we’re using heart-shaped)
Inkpad
Plastic or cellophane bags
Scissors
Stapler
Treats for your valentine (we’re using M&Ms)

Steps:

  • Cut a square of cardstock that matches the size of your bag (ex. If the bag is 4" wide, the cardstock will be 4" x 4"). 
  • Fold the cardstock in half. 


  • Use the paper punch to create a design on the cardstock. 
  • Unfold your cardstock, and lay it on a flat surface. 


  • Arrange your desired letter stamps on the stamp platform. 
  • Place stamp on ink pad and stamp cardstock on both sides of the fold. 
  • Fill bag with candy. 
  • Fold over the opening of candy bag, and place folded cardstock over the folded bag. 
  • Staple closed. 

Valentine Card Box
You’ll need:
Paper mache box
Mod Podge (crafting adhesive)
Brush to apply Mod Podge
Assorted Scrapbook paper
Foam stickers
1” Ribbon
X-Acto knife
Steps:

  • Cut card slot in top of box (help from mom necessary) 
  • Tear scrapbook paper to pieces about 1”x1”. 
  • Brush Mod Podge on box in sections and apply scrapbook paper. 
  • Once covered with scrapbook paper, apply a second coat of Mod Podge over paper pieces. 


  • Apply ribbon to rim of lid. 
  • Embellish with foam stickers.
