Creativity Made Simple is all about finding the time do what you love when life gets busy. As part of the campaign, we asked Kim to share craft ideas with us, participate in Jo-Ann videos, as well as answer our crafty questions below. Have your own question for Kim? Share in the comments below, and she will select five to answer later this month. A big thank you to Kim for taking the time to participate! :)

How do you make time to craft?
For me, I find crafting relaxing... and well, a bit therapeutic. In this hectic (and loud) world that we all live, I find that sometimes I just need to slow down and be creative. And since I have young children, the best way
for me to get "my time" is to involve them in what I'm doing. And trust me, we get messy, but sometimes that is half the fun. Allowing myself and them to just "make." And personally I don't worry when things aren't perfect because as all crafters, and moms, know, just because it didn't turn out the way you imagined doesn't mean it's not beautiful. Some of my favorite projects are happy accidents.
Who/what was your influence to craft?
The women in my life have always been creative. My grandmother made the most beautiful hand sewn quilts and my mom is a master seamstress -- from making home décor like curtains and chair covers to sewing ruffle skirts for my nieces to monogramming my sons' baseball caps -- she can do it all. And with all that influence, it was just natural for me to try my hand at creating too.
Name a crafting item you can't live without.
I have so many loves, but I'll name two that stay close to me at all times -- a portable paper trimmer (for straight edges and lines) and fine tip scissors (for small intricate cuts). When I was young my mom told me "the right tools can make all the difference between a good crafter and a great crafter." And I believe that statement to be very true. Without the right tools a simple cut, punch, stitch can be difficult and frustrating, and ultimately keep your from realizing your idea. I personally shop for tools that make my life easier and my crafts more polished. Then, I keep my tools organized, clean and handy so when I'm ready to craft so are they!
Someone says, "I'm not creative." How do you respond?
Well, in my opinion, we're all creative. Think about it. If you're interested in even one thing, then you've imagined it in your mind. And if you've imagined it in your mind, then in essence you've created it. Now just go with it. Collect the things you think you'll need and try it. No perfection needed, just your imagination.
